The crates belong to the bearfolk just across the road, the way the wood of the crate is bent is typical for them. When we were still actively trading I inspected the crates regularly, so I am sure it has to be theirs. Trade between us may have stopped now, but there is still activity coming from their fortifications over there. Whenever I traverse these roads, I sometimes get a glimpse of a burly bearfolk going further south and towards that cave up the hill. If you want to get to the bottom of this, your best chance would be to see what they’re carrying.

So it was the bearfolk who were acting as laymen between the hoofed fiends and the Fallen Ones. You are saying they tried delivering the crystals to the large cave up the hills towards the auburn cliffs? I have heard the network of tunnels beneath the mountain is their sacred hideout. A foreboding prospect.
