Silence fills your mind. For but a moment you think it is over, yet the pulsating mass in your hand reminds you of reality. And as quickly as that thought slipped your mind, so does the voice respond - seemingly - to your own inner voice.

“False hope is ill-fitted for a promising subject such as yourself. The greater forces would not relish in seeing you cling to delusions wrought by your own mind. No, there is simply one truth. A truth absolute and a truth fulfilling. Thil’phoral is bursting with power, bestowed upon it by your subservience. A last step in its path is required. A link must be tied between the blade and the rift. For it allows Thil’phoral to observe. To understand. To proclaim.

Enter the dreamscape, which your kind calls Emerald Dream. Within, meet Solnius. A failed experiment of the greater forces. End his existence and take the splinter from his possessions. The last step, my servant.

Thil’phoral in one hand, the splinter in the other. Reluctantly you place the splinter into the indentation on the sword’s surface. Almost immediately, the small piece of wood begins taking root inside the blade, which prompts the vine before you to reach out for Thil’phoral. Slithering along your forearm, it pulls you closer, while also grasping at the hand harboring the parasite. Now violently, the vine strangles your hands together under an incredible force while emitting a ghastly purple fume. You can feel the tendrils of the parasite retreating from your brain, through your arm, out of your hand.

The ordeal does not last much longer, the vine loosens its grip eventually and in your now freed hand lies Thil’phoral, merged with the parasite in an unnatural magenta light. Just as the voice inside your hand foretold: it fulfilled its path. Thanks to you. Because of your actions, it will now observe and proclaim its discoveries. To whatever force had brought it into this world.
